Nekochan Films is an independent film making project founded by beginner film maker Erik Wilhelm Sturm. Our mission is to create original work outside of the commercial mainstream, by means of promotion through web TV and media device venues.
Erik Wilhelm Sturm, Los Angeles native, started his career in production at the Roger Corman Studios in Venice, California, as a scenic intern working on the TV series Black Scorpion. He later went on to work as a Production Assistant at the 5th & Sunset Studios out of West Los Angeles. It was here that he worked on photo shoots.
While working on location for Good vs. Evil, a USA Network series, he was offered a job as a Site Representative at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles. He worked on at least a hundred motion pictures and still shoots in three years. These included: Rockstar, Price of Glory, Blow, and many other productions.
After being told that the Ambassador would be shutting down, Erik decided to take the scenic skills he learned at the Roger Corman Studios to action. After working out of set shops like Design Setters in Burbank, California, he landed jobs on movies like: Dinner With Friends starring Dennis Quaid, Will Kinnear, and Andy MacDowell. He aslo was the Lead Scenic on The Andy Dick Show.
Erik currently experiments and enjoys producing independent films.
